On April 9, the School of Economics and Management (SEM) at China University of Petroleum (East China) visited Shandong Port Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. and Taikang Life Insurance Qingdao Branch to deepen university-enterprise cooperation and expand internship opportunities for students. The visit focused on key topics such as industry-education integration, talent cultivation, and collaborative development between academia and industry, providing a solid platform for aligning student training with evolving workforce demands. The delegation of 41 faculty and students was led by Party Secretary Wang Jun.

At Shandong Port Investment Holdings, Assistant General Manager Liu Xing and Sun Guannan from the Finance Development Department introduced the company’s six major business segments. Their thorough presentation, from a macro-level overview to operational details, offered faculty and students a comprehensive understanding of the port and shipping finance structure, along with the insights behind key business data. A specialist from the Organization Department of the Shandong Port Group Party Committee then delivered an in-depth interpretation of the company's campus recruitment policies, covering topics from recruitment procedures and talent development to compensation packages and career advancement—providing valuable guidance for students' career planning.

At Taikang Life Qingdao Branch, the group toured the Haitian Health Experience Center, Wealth Experience Center, and HWP Career Space, where they received an in-depth introduction to the company's innovative practices in the fields of healthcare and asset management. During the discussion session, Ms. Sheng Jinxia, Manager of Human Resources, shared an overview of the insurance industry’s growth opportunities and Taikang's talent recruitment and development systems, highlighting the success of CUP alumni within the company and expressing Taikang’s eagerness to attract top graduates from the university. Alumni Jiang Jiajia, senior specialist of planning and coordination (Division F1), and Zhang Li, junior lecturer in training management (Training and Development Department), shared their personal career development stories at Taikang. Jiang emphasized the importance of aligning personal interests with career paths, stating, Choosing the right track is more important than aimless effort. Career development is a process of continuously designing the prototype of your future life.

Following the exchange, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed, and an internship and employment base plaque unveiling ceremony was held by Secretary Wang Jun and Secretary Xue Yanpo of Taikang Life Qingdao Branch.

This visit marks a new milestone in SEM’s ongoing efforts to integrate academic training with real-world industry demands. The initiative provides students with hands-on exposure to the corporate environment, promotes career planning awareness, and serves as a model for future collaboration. Looking ahead, SEM will continue to expand its enterprise outreach and strengthen the synergy between talent development and employment.
