On November 22, the School’s ACCA Track Program teaching team invited Ms. Kuai Bowen, an ACCA member, Certified Tax Agent in China, and Tax Manager at KPMG Corporate Advisory, to deliver a guest lecture for students from the ACCA track class as well as MPAcc and accounting postgraduate students. The lecture, themed “Career Planning and Empowerment Through the ACCA Qualification,” was part of Huangdao Business Forum Lecture Series No. 18. Mr. Yan Weihua, Director of ACCA China’s Beijing Representative Office, attended the event.

Ms. Kuai first introduced the six major business lines of accounting firms and provided an in-depth analysis of tax advisory services through practical cases. She then shared her professional journey—from her early exposure to ACCA to her current role as a tax manager—summarizing how career development and the ACCA pathway can reinforce each other. She also offered career planning advice from three perspectives: having passion, having direction, and seizing opportunities.
In a Q&A session lasting more than 30 minutes, Ms. Kuai and Director Yan responded to students’ questions on ACCA exam preparation, internship opportunities at professional firms, and job applications. They encouraged students to plan ahead and make full use of the high-quality resources provided by the ACCA track program to broaden their horizons, strengthen overall competencies, and lay a solid foundation for future career development.

This session featured rich content and strong interaction. It helped participants gain a clearer understanding of the business ecosystem within professional services firms and typical career development pathways, while also addressing common concerns related to ACCA preparation and career planning. To date, Huangdao Business Forum has hosted 18 sessions, inviting 21 industry leaders and reaching over 620 faculty members and students.
