On the afternoon of November 13, the graduate course group for Management Information Systems at the School invited Li Chunhua, Director of the Qingdao West Coast New Area Bureau of Statistics, and Ma Xuelong, Division Director, to deliver a guest lecture for the 17th session of the Huangdao Business Forum. Director Li engaged with faculty and students in an in-depth discussion on digital governance.
At the opening of the event, Deputy Dean Jian Ling (Acting Dean) noted in his remarks that bringing government and industry experts into the classroom is a key initiative to deepen industry–education integration and strengthen graduate students’ practical innovation capabilities. The purpose is to enhance students’ ability to address complex real-world challenges and to better align talent development with societal needs. On behalf of the School, Deputy Dean Jian Ling formally appointed Director Li Chunhua as an industry mentor for the Huangdao Business Forum.
Director Li’s talk began with representative practice cases, illustrating how statistical thinking is applied in digital governance and economic analysis. She also explained the core logic and value of digital management, helping students better understand the critical role that data analytics and information systems play in improving public-sector efficiency and supporting high-quality industrial development. During the interactive session, Director Li drew on her extensive professional experience to provide targeted guidance on digital literacy, career planning, and the development of core competencies.
The event integrated industry practice, policy insights, and academic instruction, and further strengthened the alignment between graduate education and talent needs. To date, the Huangdao Business Forum has held 17 sessions, inviting a total of 20 industry leaders and engaging more than 560 faculty members and students.
