To deepen career education, enhance employment guidance services, and comprehensively strengthen students’ career planning awareness and employability, the School-Level Qualifying Round (SEM Preliminary, Growth Track) for the 3rd National College Students’ Career Planning Competition was held on the evening of November 20 in Classroom Nanjiao 104.
The event invited Ms. Yang Weijing, Recruitment & Employee Relations Specialist from the Human Resources Department of Taikang Life Insurance Qingdao Branch, as the industry commentator. Counselors Wu Yizhou and Wang Shihao (Class of 2025), as well as counselors Yuan Zheng and Zhang Jiaqi (Class of 2024), attended the event and served as judges.
After the host announced the competition rules, seven shortlisted contestants took the stage in drawing order for a six-minute timed presentation and defense. With strong confidence and enthusiasm, contestants connected current development trends with their personal strengths and systematically presented their understanding of target careers, exploration pathways, job-fit logic, and career development plans. Based on self-assessment, they articulated their competitive advantages and career alignment, and proposed clear short-term learning goals alongside long-term development roadmaps. The judging panel raised questions on the feasibility and implementation details of each plan, industry insight, and depth of self-understanding, and evaluated contestants across multiple dimensions, including goal viability, plan coherence, and overall performance.
Following intense competition, the results were announced: one Gold Award, two Silver Awards, and four Bronze Awards. Ms. Yang Weijing provided concluding remarks, affirming the contestants’ thoughtful analysis and innovative mindset, while offering professional suggestions from an employer’s perspective. She highlighted the importance of professional competence and adaptability for sustained career development.
This competition not only provided an efficient platform for students to present and exchange career planning ideas, but also strengthened their understanding of career development, helping SEM students clarify their professional direction and build a solid foundation for future career success.
