On July 12, the Symposium on High-Quality Internationalization of Business Schools in Shandong Province was successfully held at China University of Petroleum (East China). The event was jointly organized by the School of Economics and Management (SEM) of UPC, the Global Entrepreneurship Research Center of Zhejiang University, and the School of Management of Ocean University of China. Scholars and experts in business education from more than ten universities—including Shandong University, Shandong Normal University, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Shandong University of Technology, and Shandong Agricultural University—participated in the symposium. The discussions focused on the theme “AI Empowerment of Business Education and High-Quality Internationalization Strategy,” outlining a blueprint for transformation and development in the AI era.
Professor Zhou Peng, Vice President of UPC, delivered the opening remarks. He noted that the rise of artificial intelligence is reshaping the global education ecosystem. UPC has actively explored digital transformation and the development of intelligent education platforms. He emphasized that, in the face of national adjustments to academic discipline structures, business education must seize the opportunity to embrace new technologies, advance internationalization strategies, reform educational philosophies, and cultivate globally minded talents with a strong sense of responsibility.
The keynote speech was delivered by Professor Wang Chongming of Zhejiang University, who shared the latest progress on achieving win–win cooperation in business education through high-quality internationalization in the AI-driven era. Professor Martyn Jones, Chair of the AMBA & BGA Quality Committee; Professor Michelle O’Dwyer, Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick (Ireland); and Mr. George Iliev, Director of Accreditation at AMBA & BGA, each gave thematic presentations on AI empowerment in business education.
The symposium also featured a deans’ roundtable. University representatives engaged in in-depth exchanges on “Transformative Innovation in AI-Empowered Business Education,” sharing their experiences in interdisciplinary program development, internationalization strategies, and digital–intelligent platform building.
The event provided an international exchange platform for business schools in Shandong Province, creating new opportunities for cooperation and promoting educational reform and high-quality collaborative development in the era of artificial intelligence.
