From May 18 to 21, 2025, a delegation from the School of Economics and Management (SEM) at China University of Petroleum (East China), led by Party Secretary Professor Wang Jun, attended the AMBA & BGA Global Conference 2025 in Berlin, Germany, at the invitation of the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA). The conference brought together deans, program directors, and accreditation experts from nearly 100 leading business schools around the world to engage in in-depth discussions on topics such as leadership development, digital transformation, accreditation strategy, and sustainability.

Throughout the conference, participants engaged in keynote speeches, roundtable forums, and thematic discussions, focusing on key issues such as “Leadership Transformation in the Era of Generative AI,” “Digital Credentials and Graduate Employability,” and “Strategic Accreditation for Business School Advancement.” During the “Showcasing Chinese Business Schools” session, Professor Wang Jun was invited to deliver a featured speech on behalf of SEM. He elaborated on the School’s mission and vision, which are rooted in the energy sector and committed to serving China’s national energy strategy by cultivating high-quality management talent with a strong sense of responsibility, sustainable development values, and a global perspective. He also highlighted the School’s unique “BEST” curriculum framework—comprising Business foundation, Energy specialization, Strategic leadership, and Technology innovation—which supports SEM’s educational objectives and enables the integration of artificial intelligence and big data technologies into energy management education and research. His address effectively conveyed the School’s strategic positioning and international aspirations, receiving positive recognition from the audience.
In addition, the SEM delegation attended two key thematic sessions related to the Silk Road Alliance: “Green Business Transformation & Leadership Development: The Silk Road Alliance” and “Empowering Business Education with AI: The Silk Road Alliance.” These sessions featured expert presentations from academic leaders across Asia, Europe, and Latin America, focusing on sustainable entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and curriculum development. Through active participation and observation, the SEM team gained valuable insights into innovative educational models and international collaboration practices from globally renowned business schools.
During the conference, the delegation also held productive exchanges with Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of AMBA & BGA; Professor Wang Zhongming, International Advisor for China; and George Iliev, Director of Strategic Projects and Innovation. The delegation shared the School’s latest achievements in international accreditation, energy-focused education, and the implementation of the BEST curriculum system, which were met with appreciation and praise from the attending experts.
The AMBA & BGA Global Conference 2025 served as a significant milestone for SEM in advancing international accreditation and strengthening global partnerships. Since earning its initial BGA accreditation in March 2023, SEM has been continuously improving its responsible management education framework, promoting sustainable development, and enhancing its societal impact. As the School prepares for its BGA re-accreditation in December 2025, the knowledge and connections gained from this conference will provide valuable support for enhancing accreditation quality and expanding the School’s international reach.
