Recently, the Higher Education Engineering Management Program Evaluation Committee under the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) issued the Notice on the Evaluation (Accreditation) Results of the Engineering Management Program at China University of Petroleum (East China). SEM’s Engineering Management program has successfully passed the national professional evaluation (accreditation), with an accreditation validity period of four years, from May 2023 to May 2027. This marks SEM’s first program to achieve national-level accreditation and the university’s first non-engineering program to obtain national professional accreditation.

Since SEM submitted the application for professional evaluation (accreditation) to MOHURD in August 2022, the program has undergone several rigorous stages, including the preparation and refinement of the self-evaluation report, expert review, and approval process. In May 2023, the expert panel from the MOHURD Higher Education Engineering Management Program Evaluation Committee conducted an on-site assessment at the School. The evaluation included a comprehensive review of teaching facilities, multi-level stakeholder interviews, classroom observations, teaching material inspections, and visits to internship bases. The expert panel highly recognized the program’s educational quality and distinctive features. Following deliberation at the plenary meeting of the Evaluation Committee, the Engineering Management program was formally granted accreditation.

The successful accreditation of the Engineering Management program affirms the School’s capacity and achievements in talent cultivation and marks the beginning of a new phase of program development. SEM will leverage this milestone as an opportunity to promote continuous improvement and innovation in program construction and high-quality talent cultivation, striving to elevate the program to even greater heights.
