On March 6–7, 2023, the 20th AMBA&BGA Business School Capacity Building Conference was held in Shanghai. The event brought together more than 200 leaders and administrators from nearly 80 AMBA & BGA member institutions across China. SEM was invited to participate, with Party Secretary Wang Jun, Associate Dean Xu Xiaofeng, Director of the Administrative Service Center Song Shouhao, and representatives from the accreditation team attending the conference. The event was chaired by Professor Wang Zhongming, Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Zhejiang University and Chair of the International Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Alliance.

During the roundtable session on Model Programs and Exemplary Courses, Secretary Wang Jun delivered a keynote presentation. He emphasized that since joining the BGA accreditation process, SEM has consistently integrated the BGA values of green development, responsibility, and sustainability into its curriculum design. The School has focused on the development of model programs and flagship courses as key drivers for improvement, enhancing curriculum development through specialization, optimization of training plans, course upgrades, and the creation of teaching platforms. SEM will continue to elevate its academic standards through ongoing curriculum development initiatives.

Secretary Wang Jun Delivers a Keynote on Model Program and Course Development
The conference featured presentations from over 40 deans and professors from leading Chinese business schools, including Professor Chen Fangruo, Dean of the Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Xi Youmin, Executive President of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool. Discussions addressed topics such as capacity-building strategies for business schools, the integration of digital intelligence with industry, development of model programs and exemplary courses, interdisciplinary innovation, and the cultivation of future-oriented business talent.

Since launching its accreditation journey in 2019, SEM has upheld the principle of continuous improvement through evaluation. The School uses international business accreditation as a strategic tool to enhance internal development and global engagement. On March 2, 2023, SEM officially achieved BGA accreditation.
