To actively respond to the standards of AACSB International Accreditation and to comprehensively promote the implementation and application of Assurance of Learning (AoL) in teaching practices, the School of Economics and Management (SEM) held an AoL Implementation and Task Assignment Workshop on November 29 in Room 105 of the South Teaching Building. Associate Dean Jian Ling, Director of the Accreditation Office Sun Jinfeng, department chairs, deputy chairs for teaching, and relevant faculty and staff attended the meeting.
The School invited experts from AACSB-accredited institutions to share their experience in building and implementing AoL systems. Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on common challenges in AoL implementation and shared practical strategies for overcoming them.
Associate Dean Jian Ling delivered a keynote address on the significance of AoL implementation and outlined the task assignments. He emphasized that SEM is currently at a critical stage of AACSB accreditation, and the successful implementation of AoL—as a core element of the accreditation framework—is crucial for enhancing teaching quality and accelerating internationalization. He called for strong leadership from the School's management, active execution by program directors, coordinated support from the Accreditation Office, and the collective effort of all faculty members. He also presented a detailed plan for AoL deployment, including course selection, learning goal setting, curriculum design, and assessment planning aligned with the structure of existing programs.
The successful convening of this workshop laid a solid foundation for the advancement of AoL at SEM and clarified the next steps in the School’s AACSB accreditation journey.
