Micro-credential Program in Carbon Neutrality and Energy System Management

Program Orientation

This micro-major is designed in response to China’s national goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. It aims to cultivate interdisciplinary professionals equipped with both low-carbon knowledge systems and modern energy system management skills to meet the needs of low-carbon industries. The program aspires to become a nationally leading and internationally recognized micro-specialization in the energy sector.

Distinctive Features

  • §The program is supported by the Institute for Energy Economics and Policy (IEEP), one of the first key provincial research bases for social science theory in Shandong.

  • §Core courses are taught by a team led by National Distinguished Young Scholars and other prominent academics.

  • §Adopts an “integrated framework with two wings” training model, with a focus on two core competencies:

    • Carbon emissions management

    • Modern energy system management
