On March 7, 2025, the 28th National Symposium on High-Quality Development and Capacity Building for Business and Management Institutions was held at the School of Economics and Business Administration of Chongqing University. The symposium was jointly organised by the School of Business Administration of Chongqing University, the Global Entrepreneurship Research Centre of Zhejiang University, and the International Belt and Road Entrepreneurship Education Alliance. Over 30 deans of business schools, directors of MBA programs, and heads of model programs from universities across the country attended the event. Professor Jian Ling, Deputy Dean in charge of administrative affairs, and Mr. Liu Dong, Deputy Director of the MBA Centre, were invited to attend the conference.
The symposium was chaired by Professor Wang Zhongming, a distinguished professor of the School of Humanities at Zhejiang University and the China Regional Advisor for AMBA & BGA. During the award ceremony, Professor Wang Zhongming presented the 2025 AMBA & BGA Global Business Excellence Awards to Chinese institutions. Representatives from the award-winning institutions delivered themed speeches on their experiences in applying for the awards, institutional characteristics, talent cultivation models, and internationalisation efforts.
The subsequent roundtable forum focused on five key themes: “2025 Global Excellence Award Winners,” “Embarking on a New Journey,” “Green Business Case Development,” “AI Empowering Business Education,” and “BGA Capacity Building Practice Roundtable Forum.” Deputy Dean Jian Ling was invited to participate in the “Green Business Case Development” roundtable discussion, sharing the school’s innovative practices in building a case centre, supporting the development of green business cases, advancing MBA case writing, and promoting case-based teaching approaches.
In the closing address, Professor Wang Zhongming, on behalf of AMBA & BGA, offered strategic recommendations for the high-quality development of Chinese business schools in 2025. He emphasised the critical role of high-quality internationalisation, congratulated the successful organisation of the symposium, and outlined a national Action Plan for High-Quality Internationalisation 2025.
With its focus on best practices and internationalization strategies, the symposium provided valuable insights for Chinese business schools seeking to enhance their global engagement and green development initiatives. Moving forward, the School will continue to deepen its collaboration with BGA, AACSB, and other international accreditation bodies, driving forward the School’s commitment to high-quality, internationally-oriented development.
